TURN THE PAGE

When we start writing something - about someone, about something, some place, some instance or about ourselves pouring out our feelings into it; we go on jotting down every moment of it. For that period, the page becomes that era of our life when those details were placed in it and we go on living it with our pen. We scribble, we rewrite somethings, make errors but we keep on adding more details. And as we reach the end of the page and are still left with a little more; we keep writing on the edges, between the lines and even around the corners. clearly rejecting to turn the page and losing the sight and the feel of what we have already written. Many a times, turning the page does make us lose the memory of what we already wrote. We initially go back for references but eventually, we do realize that the previous page had enough of what it should have had and that the current page should not reflect it more but be on its own and so should be the next one.

DOUBTS

They are the shadows following us,
shadows more visible in dark
They are the ghosts of our past,
fueling our minds at every tiny spark

Fear is nothing on its own
if not accompanied by this dirty doubt
Every soul, on its own is calm and poised
it is doubt that makes it shout

Every healthy mind
breeds dreams of castle
The one infected with doubt
finds every reason to rattle

Falling into its trap
is as easy as pie
Holding onto it
is the reason you everyday die

We look ugly when we doubt
Its a disease to be treated soon
Talk it out, share it out, cut it out
Before you see the late night moon

CHANGE

Change is good ... Change is bad ...
Change is neutral being as you want it ...
Sometimes right ... Sometimes wrong ...

The best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing.
             -Theodore Roosevelt

But something magical about it is-
What it brings along is what leads to it - fear, anxiety, resistance, acceptance, appreciation
Change is both from bright to dark and dark to bright
both are resisted in the beginning, fought then after, lived miserably and then comfortably till the urge for other is felt and here the story repeats again.

Nothing that is can pause and stay;
the moon will wax, the moon will wane,
the rain to mist and cloud again,
tomorrow to today.
             - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

And LIFE - life is not something that happens in between, life is what happens along
Accepting the change or resisting the change is called going for life, ignoring the change is withdrawal from being alive.

The bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak that resists.
             - Japanese proverb

Change has the army, you can battle but can never win. A win against it is a loss and a loss against it is a loss till you see a win beyond the loss.

The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind.
             - William Blake

Every change definitely has a price to pay and a prize to gain.
Let go the price, let come the prize
But don't let them tame, be them strange
clearing up the way for yet another change.

If you attain to what you are not yet, you must always be displeased by what you are. For where you are, pleased with yourself, there you have remained. Keep adding, keep walking, keep advancing.
              - Saint Augustine

BEING A GIRL-2

Hell !! Clothes can make you feel expensive, like a princess.
Just think back, how many times we have loved a dress at first sight and dreamt weeks about it and finally overcoming the thought that we are not worth it, gathering all our emotions we decide to try it on one day and...
And when it doesn't fit us, we curse our body for being shapeless. I bet, the trial room in a couture store has heard more confessions than the confession box in any church, more resolutions than the new years' eve and more wishes than god from the famous temples. And after every such unfitting session, we hog on a sundae, a chocolate bar or just reach the bottom of a bottle of liquor.
Ain't it sounding like a breakup? Trust me it is worst than that. It is breaking love with ourselves.
But then there are some lucky days when we find something perfect for our shape, our size and our color, something that makes us look beautiful and confident and that mends not just that very moment but all those days when we wear it. The truth that every body is different is digested and that we should appreciate them as they are; is accepted.
This repetitively unveiled philosophy continues to prevail until we stumble on another such gorgeous dreamy dress.

BEING A GIRL-1

Why do we celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day separately, when there should be a Parent's Day. They are a team together. Expressing love for one without considering the other doesn't feel fair enough to me.
I now know what people mean when they say a girl loves her parents more than a guy. If a guy loses his parents its when they leave this world but the girl loses them way before that, when she gets married.
All those days when I have been low, my dad gave me a tight hug, a pat on my back and held my head in his hands. And like magnets, his hands would pull out all the worries out of my head.
Whenever I had a fight with friends, my dad has become one himself playing and sometimes fooling around with me.
Whenever the people around, teachers, strangers or friends have made me evil in my own eyes, my mother's eyes have never failed to portray me as a star. Oiling my hair and plaiting them neatly she has always uncluttered my mind and my life. Food from even the most finest silverware cannot match the taste of food she has fed me by her hands.
And all of a sudden a stranger will come and take me away from my heroes. I will be madly in love and wanting to start a new life with him, dreaming my days and night with him with no thoughts about leaving my parents. But not too late, just one fight and I will realize no matter what, no one can match those two angels in my life.

MY HERO

May be its true,
God lives in Maa
But let me tell you,
I saw him in you too, Paa

First day of my life,
I opened my eyes in your arms
First time I stood on my feet,
was not the ground, but on your palm

My first walk holding your hand
and the first run I made was to reach where you stand

First stroke of brush and kick to a ball,
you've been there, you've taught me all

There is nothing that I can't bare
if your fingers always run through my hair

I can stand through every storm
when I know I have you to curb all harm

I'll not be star, if I reach any high
but I'll surely be one, when I sparkle in your eye

May be its true,
God lives in Maa
But let me tell you,
I saw him in you too, Paa

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT- Dreamy and equally untrue.
But first sight is obviously the first step towards eternal love.
It is totally overrated that first sight is all rosy, fragrant, moonlit or silent and slow-motioned. The best description to it would be
UNUSUAL- Something that never happened before
UNKNOWN- till it happens again
CRAZY- when it keeps on repeating
 and
LOVE- when it is finally understood

FINDING YOUR NICHE

We are the most evolved beings. We are equipped with all senses required to picture good-bad, right-wrong. We have all organs to make us breathe, walk, talk and work and we are social enough to avoid loneliness.

But still there are moments when we set out in search of ourselves, the true meaning of our existence on this earth. And though the earth is round, we tend to find a corner that is specific to us.

We have read always and know by heart that the rules of better living is being in the present moment, forgiving the past and ignoring the future but following it has always been difficult. But sometimes we enter a state of mind where past and future cease to exist and only present prevails. Life seems complete as never before and the heart and the mind act as one. You realize that achieving something or reaching goals are too shallow aims compared to being in such state. It might simply be a tree, a wall, a room, a person, a group, a place, a chair or a natural surrounding that puts us off the worldly matters and connects us to us.

Until we figure out what it is, we are two different entities - a physical form and an untamed energy aiming for material wealth and pure happiness respectively. These two entities overlap when we find our Niche.

SIGNS...

They do exist...

If you believe in god, then I would say he placed them inside you and planted them around you

If you believe in yourself, then I would say that they are the courage and perspective you hold in you

But you only get to see them when you lose both the beliefs.

YES - NO

Everyone at some point of time in their lives, have got stuck with the question 'YES or NO?' A several times or may be every time.

A 'NO' is totally negative and disappointing than the optimist 'YES'. But sometimes it feels, 'NO s' are lot more easier than the 'YES es'.

A 'NO' means a U-turn or back to square one. So we head back to where we began and start all over again. But a 'YES' means a gateway to another 'YES-NO' battle and subsequently lot more 'YES es' and 'NO s'.

Though the 'NO' is hurting but a series on 'NO s' makes us a pro and all of it just turns to an exercise. And then we grow cozy with the presence of 'NO'. Obviously, we aim for a 'YES' every time but unknowingly the 'NO' has become lot familiar till then.

And the moment 'YES' arrives, the poor 'NO' is rejected and dejected. Overwhelmed with the 'YES' and blinded by its brilliance, we go on a ride of happiness and madness for a while until this 'YES' drops us to a yet another 'YES & NO' junction. Its then we realize the best thing about 'NO' was that everything repeated itself after a period of time and nothing changed except our determination towards 'YES'.

And there we conclude that the disturbing and discomforting factor is not 'YES or NO' but
THE CHANGE.

REASONS

Everything you do should have a reason.
Everything you do has a reason.
A reason makes you turn your head.
A reason makes you move your hand.
A reason gets you smile.
A reason gets you wild.
They are the root to things.
They can get you wings.
To prove yourself right,
You back yourself with reasons.
Someone tries to prove you a point,
You say, enough of those reasons.
We are always running behind reasons,
And reasons tend to follow our decisions.
Its a vicious circle,
And reason seems like the only miracle.
So in the end, we put it this way,
And memorize it every single day
Life has to have a reason,
To keep you going every new season
Is there someone with a different vision,
To tell me what, if there ain't no reason !

SOULMATE

Sharing life with one person,
has always been my one concern

It was a question until I met you,
I know the answer now that I know you

Life is long, life is easy not,
holding you, I find it a little short

Life is a journey, testing me every mile
walking with you will make it worthwhile

I am a river, a flowing river
gushing, flooding, hurting, healing

You are the bank, an earthy bank
stable, poised, wise, content

The river-the bank define each other
the bank contains the river, the river flourishes the bank
the bank calms the river, the river heals the bank

Be my bank, let me sink in you
hold me tight, coz all I need is you

FAITH

Sometimes, I feel I am standing on a threshold waiting for the door to open. Waiting there patiently I sometimes dream the life beyond that door, I know that's the way I want to go. I have a faith on the door to open but I too have fear, fear that the hope that is holding my patience will fade out with every unattended knock and fear that I'll have to take back my steps if I fail to awaken the door. But I know, now that I am here waiting for so long accustomed of being with the door I can't move back, atleast not without an answer to my knock.

TAKE CARE

There was a girl Joe whose mother found her to be irresponsible and careless for her age. Being fifteen she was supposed to take care of her younger sister and learn household to help her mother meet the needs of the family.
Every morning her mother would start her day cursing Joe's behavior and laziness. Joe would get disappointed with her mother's everyday complaints but her school work and activities keep her so busy all day that she forgets all about her mom.

One Sunday morning, the story repeated itself but this time it was loud enough to awaken her dad to the friction between mom and daughter. Joe watching her mom complaining her dad, ran straight to her room and locked herself. Her dad, hearing to her mom went to her and told her that that her mom is losing faith in her and that if this continues she would send her to some other city for further studies. Worried of leaving home, Joe asked her dad 'is there any way I can prove myself to mom?'

Dad knew that Joe was still quite young for what her mother expected from her but the mother was not wrong either with her growing responsibilities. He thought for a while and told Joe that there is a way but he would talk to her mom first and that she would have to do as he asks her. Joe agrees.

Dad goes to mom and tells her 'I am going to give Joe one more chance which would include an exercise but you have to promise that you will keep out of it for a week.' The mother agrees hesitatingly.

Joe was waiting for her dad in her room and promised herself that whatever it is she would prove herself this time.

Dad arrives with a glass sphere. Joe had no clue of what it was meant for. Dad says 'This is it sweety. I have convinced your mom for a last chance and this time you have to prove her right.'
Handing her the sphere he says 'This is your part of responsibility for a week. Take care of it and don't let it break or scratch. I will check it thoroughly after a week and then me and your mom shall decide further.'

Joe agrees to it and takes the sphere from her dad.

A week passes by and on Saturday, a day before the parents decision, Joe's mom gets a call from Joe's school that she has been inactive for a whole week. She didn't participate in regular activities, didn't finish her homework and was lost in a sphere during lectures. Mom was furious but decided to wait until her dad came back from work.

When dad arrived, the mother ran to him and just before she could start her blasting, Joe's sister called her and said 'mom, i don't like Joe anymore. She didn't play with me and didn't allow me in her room for so many days.'

Dad, hearing this smiled. His trick had worked exactly. He called the mother and said 'our baby is perfectly responsible for her age. She takes care of her school work and never lets a complaint reach home, she plays with her sister and that's her part of caring.'

The mother realizes that she had over expected from her daughter and was making things worst for both of them.

Sunday morning, as Joe was waiting for her dad to declare the results of the test she was put through, her mother arrives and says
' Sweetheart, you don't need to prove yourself to me. I know you care. You care for me, your dad and your sister and that proves you are responsible.'

GOT STUCK AGAIN...????

God! this annoying nail,
Tore my every new dress
Every time I hit it, I make a mess,
But to fix it, I always fail

Every time I see it, more I curse,
The day I don't, I love the most
I wonder then, if it's fixed I'll miss its ghost,
So I don't and life gets worse

This time I hit it when,
I had to reach some place urgent
I pulled out hard, that cut me through my pant,
Stained with blood, I got it then

Some things in life, I am stuck the most,
That smile me once and hurt me everyday
whose absence I romance and presence make me say-
"Have some courage and let it go,
It has no worth, if it makes life worst"

IRONY

Life is an irony -

We talk about satisfaction
when what keeps us moving is dissatisfaction.

We talk about peace
when what drives us are hassles.

We talk about love
when what we deep down fear is being unnoticed.

We talk about courage
when what drains us most is wearing it.

We talk about living to the fullest
when what we fear always is death.
